Facebook posts are only temporary. I toiled on this poem for so long, I need to make sure it lasts forever. Since she would probably would get mad at me if I hacked into her blog to post this; I must leave it here.

Ode to Jenn

Happy birthday, my love
Just wanted you to know
You are more beautiful than a dove
And you make good pizza dough

We’ll enjoy, one on one,
A wonderful dinner tonight
Of food, folks and fun
Don’t worry, I’ll pay this time.

You are really awesome
And you design cool things
You like to do things that are fun

More than pretty much anyone else
So if you ever feel like you’ve been forgot
Remember my love for you will never fails.

Tonight, I was involved in a hit-and-run accident. Ironically I did the hitting, but that’s only because the 18-wheeler going 20 mph under the speed limit jumped into my line directly in front of me with no warning whatsoever. Thanks to my deft maneuvering I narrowly avoided a full frontal collision. As it stands, my only injury is to one of my fingers, which got shredded a little by some glass. Then again, my neck is starting to hurt. Guess I’ll find out the severity of that tomorrow.

As for the car, I think she might be totaled. I’m glad that I walked away from this and even more grateful that my family wasn’t with me.

I’ve made a new home for my music here at ryaniam.com. With a new decade, I decided to start fresh. Not much to look at now, but one step at a time, right?
